THREE FORKS — The Butte Miners could not have started the final week of the regular season any better.
Butte swept a South A doubleheader with the Gallatin Valley Outlaws, winning both games 5-4. The second game went an extra inning before the Miners pulled out the win.
The sweep guarantees the Miners at least the No. 2 seed when they host the South A District tournament, which starts July 21 on Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium.
The Miners are now 14-0 in conference and 29-8 overall. They play host to second-place Belgrade in a 6 p.m. doubleheader Friday night.
Butte will be celebrating Senior Night to honor seniors Eric “Chooch” Hart, Kenley Leary, George Riojas and their parents.
