COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Montana State women’s rugby club came up one win shy of advancing to the DII semifinals in South Carolina over the weekend.
The Bobcats, whose team included Butte freshman Maria Michelotti, went 1-1 at the Rockies Region championship at the Air Force Academy. Michelotti registered three tries as the Bobcats beat Mankato State on Saturday. On Sunday, the Bobcats fell to No. 2 Winona 73-12.
Earlier in the month, the Bobcats won the Rocky Mountain Conference championship.
Michelotti is a 2015 Butte High graduate. She was a three-sport standout for the Bulldogs.
