Michael Foster returns to MSU football team

BOZEMAN, Mont. – A familiar face returned to the Montana State football program Tuesday, when senior linebacker Michael Foster was granted a waiver by the NCAA. The waiver reinstates Foster’s eligibility for 2014 after he serves a four-game suspension to open the season.

Foster was declared academically ineligible by MSU and the NCAA after the spring semester. The engineering major completed a waiver request based on personal, academic and athletic extenuating circumstances, which the NCAA granted. Foster is expected to begin his five-day acclimation period immediately, and pending the completion of his paperwork could begin practice as early as Tuesday.

Foster was Montana State’s starting middle linebacker throughout the 2013 season, compiling 73 tackles, second-most on the team, while recovering a team-high three fumbles.
