Megan Michelotti’s 17 paces BC girls in Stevi rout

STEVENSVILLE — Saturday it was Megan Michelotti’s turn to lead the undefeated Maroons.

The Butte Central senior scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the first half, and the Maroons rolled to 60-34 win over Stevensville in a Southwestern A girls’ basketball game.

The 17 points was a career high for Michelotti, who didn’t play basketball in her junior season. She scored six field goals and shot 5 for 6 from the free throw line.

Kloie Thatcher hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter to help the Maroons build a 27-14 halftime lead.

BC put the game away with a 21-5 fourth quarter that saw Emma Keeley come off the bench to score all seven of her points, and Olivia Bolton toss in six of her 10.

Thatcher ended with 16 points for the Maroons, who improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference. Cassidy Strizic scored six, while Tricia Joyce and Maddie Kump each scored two.

Angel Richards scored 15 to lead the Yellowjackets.

Butte Central is back in action Tuesday when the boys’ and girls’ teams take on Belgrade in a non-conference doubleheader at the Maroon Activities Center.

The girls open the twin bill at 6.
