GREAT FALLS — Erika McLeod won the long jump Friday at the Eastern AA Divisional meet.
The Butte High junior jumped a personal best 18 feet, 1 3/4 to win the event. She had already qualified for State with a mark of 17-10 1/2 during the season.
The Bulldogs added two more State meet qualifiers on Friday.
Peter Granger and Natalee Faupel qualified in individual events in the first day of the two-day tournament.
Faupel placed third in the javelin with a mark of 118 feet 6 inches. She beat teammate McKenzee O’Neill, who qualified for State last week, by two inches.
Faupel is also on the 400-meter relay team that placed third. The team, which already qualified for State, includes McLeod, Sammy McGree and Mariah Richardson.
Rashae Emerson placed fourth in the 35-11 in the shot put. She reached the qualifying mark with a 37-5 3/4 during the season.
Billings West’s girls lead the team race with 59.5 points. Billings Skyview is second at 53, followed by Great Falls Russell at 52 and Butte High at 30.
Granger placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet 2 1/2 inches. Butte High’s boys scored 13 team points.
Kyle Christie, who already qualified in the pole vault, placed fourth in that event Friday. The 400 relay team, also already a qualifier for state, placed third. Dalton Daum, Zach Bunney, Jake Eisenbarth and Paul Campbell ran the relay.
Billings West is on top of the team standings through eight events with 77 points. Bozeman is second at 77.
The meet concludes Saturday.
