McIver defends Men’s State Am title

WHITEFISH — Billings golfer Brandon McIver made it back-to-back titles at the 97th Montana State Men’s Amateur Golf Tournament on Saturday.

The University of Oregon golfer shot a final round 67 for a 12-under-par 204. That was eight shots better than Tom Swanson of Missoula and Ryan Porch of Kalispell, who tied for second at 212.

Two Butte golfers competed in the tournament. Cole Noctor placed seventh in the second flight at 241. He followed a first-round 82 with a 76 and an 83.

Butte’s Patrick O’Rourke tied for fourth in the fourth flight with a 243. He shot 84, 78, 81.
