BOZEMAN — Rileigh McGree and Ella Moodry made a pretty good team Thursday.
McGree, a junior, and Moodry, a freshman, were the only Butte Central girls to score points for the team, and the Maroons placed sixth in team standings with 43 points at the Manhattan Christian Invitational. (Results)
McGree ran to victories in the 100-meters dash and the 100-meter hurdles at the Gallatin High School Track. Her time of 12.86 in the 100 meters was a personal best. She won the hurdles with a time of 16.18 seconds.
She also placed second in the 300 hurdles, finishing in 48.30 seconds.
Moodry placed second in the javelin, third in the long jump, sixth in the 100 and seventh in the 200.
Manhattan won the team title with 88 points. Boulder finished second at 65.33, and Christian placed third at 62.
Boulder won the team title on the boys’ side with 78 points. Manhattan took second at 68, followed by Townsend at 62. Butte Central scored two and a half points.
Freshman Zane Moodry tied for fifth in the high jump to lead the Maroons. He also placed 11th in the triple jump.
Butte Central’s boys placed sixth in the 400-meter relay. Egan Lester, Kyle Holter, Bryan Holland and Konnor Pochervina ran legs of that race. Holland also placed seventh in the long jump.
Lester jumped to ninth in the long jump, finishing one place higher than teammate Bryson Sestrich.
Next up for the Maroons is the May 1 John Tomich Memorial at the Charlie Merrifield Track.
