McGeehan third on Polson obstacle course

POLSON — The Butte Central cross country team ran a different kind of race Saturday.

The results, though, remained pretty much the same. Brian McGeehan was near the top of the field.

The BC sophomore finished the 3-mile Polson Invitational in 17 minutes, 30 second to place third overall. The course featured obstacles — some man-made and some natural.

“The runners loved it,” BC coach Bob Johnson said.

Zach Carlson finished the race in 19:57 for the Maroons, while Theron Nelson finished in 20:41 and Nathan Ortega crossed in 22:25.

The Maroons were shorthanded because of illness. Ian Campbell was sick and couldn’t finish the race, while Abby McGee didn’t compete at all.

Complete race results are not available.

Next up for the Maroons is next Saturday’s Butte Invitational at the Highland View Golf Course.
