McGee fifth in Livingston

LIVINGSTON – Butte Central sophomore Conor McGee placed fifth in the season-opening cross country meet Friday.

McGee ran the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 16 seconds. Anaconda’s Aiden Theard cruised to the individual victory in 17:04, 31 seconds better than second-place Jonathan Eastwood of Belgrade.

Also for Butte Central, freshman Shannon Temple finished 5 seconds out of the top 10 in 18:57. Classmate Connor Larson finished in 23:22. Sophomore Clay Stillwagon didn’t have enough practices to compete. He ran, but didn’t receive a time.

The Maroons, who don’t have any girl runners, don’t have enough boys for a team score.

Belgrade won the boys’ title. Lewistown won the girls’ crown.

Anaconda star Olivia Wood cruised to the girls’ individual title in 20:06. She beat second-place Kelsie Harriman of Livingston by 1:15.
