Tuesday night was a stress test for the scoreboard and the scoreboard operator at 3 Legends Stadium.
The Missoula Mavericks B and Butte Muckers combined for 38 hits and 33 runs. In the end, the Mavs walked away with an 18-15 win in the scheduled nine-inning game on Miners Field. (Boxscore)
The Miners left the bases loaded in the final inning, too.
Cole Truglio pitched four innings of relief to get the win. Bryce Ostrom got the last out for the save.
Missoula leadoff hitter Carter Taylor poked four hits, including three triples. Easton Reimers and Marek Hall each had a three-hit game.
Butte outhit the Mavs 20-18, and every Mucker to step to the plate belted at least one hit.
Colby Gordon hit four singles, while Tyler Duffy and Zach O’Connell each hit a double and a single. Will Stepan and Lucas Harris-Huerta doubled, and Tocher Lee, Matt Donaldson, Gavin Trudgeon and Jacob Tauscher each hit two singles.
Derek Dunmire, who returned from an injury sooner than expected, joined Mason Neegard with a single.
The game was the home finale for the Muckers, who will play a doubleheader in Belgrade on Friday.
