MISSOULA — The Missoula Mavericks A took both ends of a doubleheader from the Butte Muckers Saturday.
The Mavs won the opener 11-1 before completing the sweep with a 6-2 win in Game 2.
The Muckers will play two games at home on Sunday. Butte will take on the Bitterroot Bucks B at 1 p.m. They’ll play Gallatin Valley B at 5.
Both games will be played on Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium.
The Butte Miners will play a 1 p.m. non-conference doubleheader in Missoula against the Mavs AA.
Missoula 11, Butte 1
Charie Kirgan hit a home run and a triple while driving in four runs to lead the Mavs in the win that was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
Skye Palmer, Henry Black and Ian Finch doubled, while Henry Gibbs and Alex Certel each hit three singles.
Christian Dill pitched the distance, striking out five and walking four for the win.
Ethan Cunningham, Brady Garner, Hunter Hotalen, Ethan Edwards and Gian Reynolds singled for the Miners.
Missoula 6, Butte 2
Leadoff hitter Adam Jones went 3 for 4 with a triple, double and two RBIs to lead the Mavs in Game 2.
Gibbs and Nick Been doubled, while Jarek Bodlovic gave up just two hits in complete-game win.
Eyson Lakala and Garner singled for the Muckers. Garner struck out three and pitched the distance in the loss.
