Maroons unveil schedules

Butte Central Catholic High School released its sports schedules for 2021-22 school year this morning, and the Maroons will spend the first two week of the football season on the road.

The Maroons will open Aug. 27 with a road game against Polson. After a Sept. 3 trip to Browning, BC will play its home opener Sept. 10 against Whitefish on Montana Tech’s Bob Green Field.

Central will travel to Hamilton on Sept. 17 before returning home for two weeks, taking on Corvallis and Dillon. The Maroons will celebrate Homecoming when Corvallis comes to town Sept. 24.

Oct. 8 will see BC head to Frenchtown. Then, after a week off, the Maroons close the regular season Oct. 22 at home against Stevensville.

BC will begin the volleyball season Aug. 27-28 at the Tipoff Tournament in Ronan. The Maroons will play their first home match and open Southwestern A play Sept. 9 when they take on Dillon at the Maroon Activities Center.

Central’s Homecoming match is Sept. 23 against Stevensville, and the Maroons will host the Blocktober Classic Oct. 15-16 at the MAC.

The Southwestern A District tournament will be held in Corvallis Oct. 29-30, and the Western A Divisional is Nov. 4-6 in Ronan. The Class A State tournament is Nov. 11-13 in Bozeman.

In cross country, BC will begin the season Aug. 28 at the Powell County Invitational in Deer Lodge. Central will host the Butte Central Invitational Sept. 7 at Fairmont Hot Springs.

On Sept. 25, Central will compete in Butte High’s meet at Stodden Park. The Class A State meet is Oct. 23 in Missoula.

The first action of the fall season will be Aug. 16 when the Maroons host the Butte Central Invitational golf tournament at the Highland View Golf Course.

The Maroons will also compete at the Butte High Invitational Sept. 9-10 at Fairmont.

Hamilton will host the Western A Divisional golf tournament Sept. 25, and the state tournament is set for Oct. 1-2 in Polson.
