DILLON — Butte Central knocked off Polson in four sets in the fourth-place match of the Western A Divisional volleyball tournament at the B.W. Lodge Gym.
BC won 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16 to secure at least the No. 3 seed in next week’s Class A State tournament in Bozeman. The Maroons clinched a spot at State with a win over Dillon earlier Friday.
Central will play Columbia Falls 10 a.m. Saturday in the third-place match. The winner will advance to the first championship match against Corvallis.
“We put together and played another great game tonight,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “Solid team wins today, everybody is just contributing in big ways for us from the front row to the back row.”
Cassidy Strizic spiked 17 kills, while Maci Reopelle collected 26 digs and served up 21 assists to lead the Maroons. Avery Kelly added 10 kills, and Sophia Burton had 19 digs.
Also, Emma Keeley handed up 15 assists.
“I’m really proud of how the girls are playing right now and their fight,” Hancock said. “These have been long days , and they just continue to give it everything they got. I’m looking forward to what we can bring tomorrow morning, as we once again meet up with Columbia Falls for a semifinal game.”
