DILLON — Butte Central appears to be about ready for the volleyball postseason.
Powered by Cassidy Strizic’s 15 kills, the Maroons swept past Dillon Thursday night in a Southwestern A match at the B.W. Lodge Gymnasium.
BC also completed the season sweep of the rival Beavers with the 25-18, 25-20, 27-25 victory.
“I felt we did a great job offensively tonight,” BC coach Becky Hancock said after her Maroons improved to 9-3 overall and 6-3 in league play. “Cassidy Strizic had an awesome game for us. She was such a force for us, it was fun to watch.”
Allyson Mueller added nine kills for the Maroons, who got five from Marissa Anderson and four from Avery Kelly. Kelly also notched two blocks.
Strizic, who collected seven digs, joined Sophia Burton and Mueller with two aces apiece.
Sophia Burton’s 19 digs led the BC backcourt, Emma Keeley dished up 29 assists to run the Maroon attack.
“Defensively I just feel we were a split second behind plays,” Hancock said. “We need to do better in that area and be engaged in every play.”
Overall, Hancock said the Maroons are starting to roll.
“I liked a lot of what I saw tonight,” the coach said. “We are playing some good volleyball right now, but we still have another level in us that we need to get to.”
The Maroons head to Stevensville Saturday to close out the regular season.
The Southwestern A Divisional tournament is next week in Dillon.
