DILLON — The Dillon Beavers swept a Southwestern A match against Butte Central Wednesday night at the B.W. Lodge Gymnasium.
Dillon won 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 in a match that was moved up one day because of Thursday funeral for long-time Dillon coach Steve Vezina.
BC coach Becky Hancock said the Maroons struggled closing out games.
“We came out strong in the first two games, just couldn’t finish,” she said. “There are a couple rotations we are struggling in that we need to figure out. Other than that we were right in those games.”
Allyson Mueller’s five kills paced the BC attack. Olivia Bolton registered 15 digs, while Kassidy Criscuolo served three aces. Stats for Dillon were not provided.
The Maroons will play their first home match Saturday afternoon. Hancock said improvement is within reach for her team.
“I keep telling these girls this is about us and what we can do,” she said. “It’s there. We just need to fix some things, and we have plenty of time to get to where we need to be.”
