EAST HELENA — Butte Central’s volleyball team rolled to its third straight victory Tuesday night.
This time it was a three-set Southwestern A sweep of the East Helena Vigilantes. BC won the match 25-16, 25-10, 25-11 completing the regular-season sweep of the Vigilantes. Central beat East Helena in three sets last month in Butte.
“We played a pretty solid game tonight,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “I wanted a little bit more movement in our defense and just fine tuning our game as a whole, but a win is a win.”
All of BC’s 29 kills came from three players, but it was a total team effort for the Maroons. Brooke Badovinac led the way with 12 kills. She also smacked four stuff blocks.
Ella Moodry spiked nine kills, and Sofee Thatcher tallied eight.
Mia Keeley set 27 assists to go along with seven digs and four aces. Thatcher joined Maycee Anderson with a team-best eight digs. Brenna Foley added seven.
Payton Hartwick and Anderson each served two aces. Mollie Drew and Kinley Hamilton also contributed for the Maroons.
“Payton Hartwick came in for us tonight and did a great job serving, and when we can get that going for us we do well,” Hancock said.
The Maroons will go for their fourth straight win Saturday when they take on Frenchtown at the Maroon Activities Center.
