Big Fork 43 Butte Central Maroons 65

Butte Central came out firing Saturday and looked like a completely different team than Friday night.

Big Fork came out with a press that Central absolutely shredded in the first period. The Maroons also welcomed back senior Eric Loos who had an immediate impact. Butte led 21-9 after 1 quarter.

The Maroons stalled in the second quarter letting Big Fork climb their way back and hang around nearing halftime. Dougie Peoples seemed to be battling a finger injury but still had a great first half. Butte Central struggled to score in the second quarter but the Maroons led at the half.

The 3rd quarter started slow as both teams seemingly only had one bucket midway through the period. Big Fork closed the gap to 33-30, until senor Eric Loos got to the foul line and got them going followed by teammate Jack Keeley who hit a 3 ball and the Maroons stepped on the pedal and never looked back.

Butte Central played tough and Big Fork had no answers for Dougie Peoples in the second half, the finger was no longer an issue as he torched Big Fork for 36 points. Eric Loos stepped in big in his season debut notching a near a double-double with 8 point and 9 boards. Jack Keeley had 9, Zane Moodry had 7, Owen McPartland had 4 for the Maroons.

The Maroons will move to 1-1 on the season and return to action next Thursday at the MAC against East Helena.
