HAMILTON — Teresa Piazzola had another huge day Saturday, and Butte Central’s softball team knocked off Hamilton 7-2 to improve to 2-0 in Southwestern A play.
Less than 24 hours after she dealt a perfect game against Stevensville, Piazzola struck out 16 batters in a two-hit win. She walked just one batter. Through three starts this season, Piazzola has racked up 40 strikeouts.
The BC ace also got plenty of support as well. The Maroons pounded 11, and the BC scored seven runs through the first four innings.
Shawnee Hjelt went 3 for 4 with a double to lead the way as eight different Maroons had at least one hit. Taylor Wahl added a double and a single.
Piazzola helped her own cause by doubling and driving in three runs. Kloie Thatcher, Mollie Peoples, Corbyn Holm, Kassidy Criscuolo and Megan Michelotti each added a single.
The Maroons (3-1 overall) are back in action Thursday when they travel to Anaconda for a non-conference game.
