EAST HELENA — Butte Central’s girls’ basketball team completed the week at 3-0 Saturday.
Brooke Badovinac and Ella Moodry combined for 40 points to lead the way as BC knocked off East Helena 54-40 in a Southwestern A game.
Central outscored the Vigilantes 14-8 in the second quarter to take a 23-19 lead into halftime. The Maroons outscored East Helena 31-21 in the second half to improve to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in league play.
Badovinac, who matched Julie (Leary) Nadeau’s school record against Class A competition with 35 points on Thursday, tossed in 23 points in the win. In wins over Livingston, Corvallis and East Helena this week, Badovinac scored a total of 81 points.






Moodry tossed in 17 for BC, which got six points apiece from Mollie Drew and Payton Hartwick. Brenna Foley scored two points.
Renee Creekmore, Kathryn Lalicker, Maycee Anderson and Tameli Bayarou also contributed for the Maroons, who again played without injured senior Sofee Thatcher. She is expected back as early as next week.
Dymon Root scored 20 points to lead East Helena, which fell to 2-12 and 1-8.
The Maroons will play at Frenchtown on Thursday before heading home to take on Livingston on Saturday.
