Butte Central has postponed three volleyball matches over the next two weeks, the school announced Sunday.
The postponements come after a Butte Central student tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Contact tracing by the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department has led to 14-day quarantining of some Butte Central students.
Matches affected are Thursday’s home match against Corvallis, Saturday’s home match against Polson and an Oct. 1 match at Dillon.
Butte Central’s volleyball team also postponed Saturday’s match at Hamilton.
The school said it plans to make up the matches at a later date. For the time being, however, there will be no volleyball practices.
The Maroons had to cancel this weekend’s football game at Corvallis because of the contact tracing of the positive COVID-19 case. As of now, Friday’s football game at home against Stevensville has not been called off.
A decision on Friday’s football game will be made during the week.
