Butte Central will open the Class A State softball tournament against Libby Thursday in Polson.
The Maroons (16-8) will play the Loggers at 1 p.m. on Field 2 at the Polson Softball Complex The winner will take on Belgrade, the No. 1 seed from the Central A, at 5 p.m. Thursday.
BC placed second at the Southwestern A Divisional tournament over the weekend. Libby is the No. 3 seed from the Northwestern A.
Anaconda will play Livingston on Field No. 1 at 11 a.m. Thursday. The winner will play Billings Central at 3.
Southwestern A champion Hamilton received a bye and will be in the same side of the bracket as the Maroons. The Broncs will play Polson or Laurel at 5.
