Butte Central’s annual John Tomich Invitational track meet is slated for a 10 a.m. start Saturday at Charlie Merrifield Track.
Among the teams expected to compete are Butte High, Dillon, Anaconda and Belgrade.
A bigger-than-usual team, numbers-wise, will be on display for the host Maroons. On the boys’ side, sprinter Kyle Harrington should figure in prominently, while Cole Harper has shown great promise in the jumps — especially the long jump.
For the BC girls, Whitney McGree will pace the sprinters and lead a strong sprint relay squad, while Erin Antonioli is slated to run the 200 and 400. Abby McGee will take on the middle-distance races, while Rachel Banks will tackle the longer-distance runs.
