The Butte Central Maroons tipped off in Dillon today beating the Beavers in convincing fashion. The Maroons opened with a 13-0 run playing solid defense and causing turnovers right out of the gate.

Dougie Peoples was fouled early on a 3-point attempt and knocked all three down to start it off, Kyle Holter had a fastbreak layup, and Peoples came back and drained a 3 ball.

With 4 minutes to go the Beavers went on a 7-1 run to close the gap to 13-7, with 1 minute left Kyle Holter splashed a 3 ball to take the lead to 16-7, advantage Maroons.

The Maroons began the 3rd quarter on a layup from Kyle Holter to spark a 6-2 run, the Maroons dominated the offensive glass and wreaked havoc on defense forcing turnovers left and right.

Butte Central led 41-23 after 3.

The Maroons used their lead to their advantage to start the 4th, shot clock included and iced the game with their stone-cold defense and ability to rebound the ball on the offensive end of the court.

Dougie Peoples led all scorers with 16 points, Kyle Holter had 12 points, and Jack Keeley chipped in 7 more.

Butte Central Will travel to Corvallis Tuesday evening to take on the Blue Devils.
