Butte Central coach Becky Hancock said the long day of action was a trying one.

“We played hard today,” Hancock said. “It was a lot of volleyball, and you could see the fatigue set in towards the end of the day. But we kept playing.”

Central was without setter Mia Keeley, who missed the day to attend her grandmother’s funeral.

Mollie Drew stepped up to try to fill the huge hole in the lineup and played well. She set 58 assists over the eight games.

“We made some adjustments early on in the week, knowing we would be playing without Mia today, and I thought we handled that the best we could,” Hancock said.

Ella Moodry led BC’s attack with 21 total kills. She also collected 24 digs and served nine aces.

Brooke Badovinac added 19 kills and four stuff blocks. Sofee Thatcher contributed with 15 kills and 32 digs. BC’s attack also got 11 kills from Kinley Hamilton.

Maycee Anderson added 31 digs, while Brenna Foley dug 21 and Mollie Drew collected 17. Thatcher and Foley each served three aces. Payton Hartwick also contributed for the Maroons.
