Maroons fall in Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN – Butte Central’s season came to an Saturday with a 32-7 loss to Frenchtown in the first round of the Class A playoffs.

The Broncs ran the wishbone offense to perfection, racking up 342 yards on 61 carries. Daniel Lebsock and David Anderson both racked up 129 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Joe Joyce’s 4-yard touchdown run was the only points the Maroons could muster against the Broncs, who advance to play Billings Central next week.

The game was the final for Joyce and fellow seniors Frank Joyce, Brady Tippett, Northey Tretheway and Kolton Lamiaux. Lamiaux missed the end of the season with an injury.

Tippett passed for 120 yards in his final game. Junior receiver Kale Guldesth caught eight passes for 77 yards. Guldseth ended the season with a school record 67 receptions.

The Maroons closed the season at 4-6. Frenchtown improved to 7-2.
