Maroons close tournament with two losses

FRENCHTOWN — Butte Central’s softball team ended the Frenchtown tournament with two losses Saturday.

The Maroons fell 18-3 to Libby before dropping a 17-8 decision to St. Ignatius. Both games were non-conference.

Central is back in action Tuesday when the Maroons play host to Dillon in a Southwestern A game at Stodden Park.

The Loggers pounded 22 hits, 14 of which went for extra bases in the win.

MacKenzie Foss went 3 for 4 with two home runs and a double to lead the way. She drove in five runs and scored four more in the win.

Sidney Rusdal and Kinzee Boehmier each drove in three runs for Libby.

Brooke Badoviance went 2 for 2 with a triple and a double to lead the Maroons. She drove in two runs. Mia Keeley added a double, and Hattie Merring singled.

Keeley had a big game to lead the Maroons in the finale.

The catcher went 3 for 3 with a home run, triple, double and five RBIs. Badovinac went 3 for 4 with a homer, a double and two RBIs.

Maggie Stimatz poked a hit for the Maroons, and Brenna Foley drove in a run. Mehring, Renee Creekmore, Cloe Stillwagon and Focus Arunklinsukhon worked walks for BC.
