A windy day turned into a short day on the tennis courts for the Butte Central Maroons.
Central’s girls took on a shorthanded Livingston team, while BC’s boys, who are undermanned themselves, got in three matches with the Rangers.
The Maroons grabbed a pair of victories in girls’ doubles. They also got singles and doubles wins on the boys’ side.
Kate Johnston and Lucky Kelly teamed up for a straight sets victory for the BC girls. Miranda Murray and Meredith Varady shined in a pro-set win.
Eric Hart made quick work of his Livingston counterpart for a boys’ singles victory. Drew Badovinac and Nick Lester played doubles for BC. They won one and lost one.
“We had some good things come from today, but overall struggled with the consistency of our game,” BC coach Becky Hancock said. “I was able to get some younger girls out there playing, which was good. But overall, Park only had five girls, and then we only had three boys today. So, we were just trying to get kids out there playing.”
Central was scheduled to play in the Bitterroot Invitational on Saturday, but that tournament was canceled. Central will host East Helena at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stodden.
