The Butte Central Maroon volleyball team opened the 2022 Southwest A conference Thursday night on Joe Berry court in Hamilton.
The Broncs defeated the Maroons in the first two games 25-16 each. The Maroons fought back in game three to take a 25-22 win. The Broncs dashed the Maroon comeback hopes in game four with a 25-19 victory to win the match 3-1.
Maroon head coach Becky Hancock liked her teams effort, “The girls played hard, and I couldn’t have asked for a better effort. We just need to fine tune some areas, and rotations.”
Ella Moodry led the Maroons on the stat sheet with 12 kills on the night , Brooke Badovinac added 8 kills. Mia Keeley set 27 assists in the match. Macee Anderson had 20 digs with Ella Moodry adding 17.
The Maroons served up 13 aces, Hattie Mehring led the aces with 6, Mia Keeley with 4 and Macee Anderson with 3.
The Maroons will play their first home game of the season Saturday at 4pm against Stevensville.
