Butte Central senior Marcus Ferriter was named to the Class A All-State team.

That news broke this morning with the release of the Southwestern A All-Conference selections. Ferriter is one of three boys from the conference to receive All-State accolades. He is one of eight Butte Central basketball players to receive post-season recognition.

Senior Danny Peoples and sophomore Emily St. John earned first-team all-conference honors. Senior Dalton Sessions, sophomore Mollie Peoples and freshman Kloie Thatcher made second-team all-conference, while junior Sierra Pica and senior Chad Peterson received an honorable mention.

Dillon senior Cierra Lamey was named the Southwestern A MVP on the girls’ side. She made All-State along with Hamilton’s Taylor Goligoski and Jaylee Albert. Dillon’s Alex Rouse took home first-team all-conference honors, while teammate Audrey Schurg earned a spot on the second team.

Beaver coach Gabe Walker was named the girls’ Southwestern A Coach of the Year.

On the boys’ side, Corvallis’ Jayce Gilder took home the conference MVP honors. Dillon senior Jason Ferris joined Gilder and Ferriter as an All-State selection.

Dillon’s Justin Ferris also earned a first-team all-conference nod. Dillon’s Trae Thomas made the second team, while Beaver Tanner Haverfield took home an honorable mention. Anaconda freshman Braxton Hill made the second team.

Dillon coach Terry Thomas was named the boys’ Southwest A Coach of the Year.
