Machinal, Kalumbi lead Tech women to win

LAS VEGAS — Montana Tech’s women’s basketball team bounced back in a big way Friday night.

Mandy Machinal scored 26 points and Laini Kalumbi tossed in 23 as the Orediggers rolled to a 77-57 win over Cal State San Marcos at the Las Vegas Shootout. The Orediggers (7-5) won for the fifth time in six games.

Kelsey DeWit scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the ORediggers. Shaye Muprhy scored five, while Lisa Laslovich and Dannii Devenny each scored four points and grabbed six boards.

Also, Erika Jenkins scored three, while Ivana Lacmanovic and Brooke Pokorny each netted two.

Sherika Miller’s 19 points paced San Marcos.

The Orediggers wrap up the tournament Saturday against Jamestown College.
