Locomotives ride to consolation game

BILLINGS  — Brett Thompson scored 22 points and Taylor Maida knocked down 14 to lead Laurel to a 55-36 win over Belgrade in a loser-out game this morning at the Class A State boys’ basketball tournament.

The Locomotives will play Butte Central or Columbia Falls at 6:30 p.m. in the consolation game at the Rimrock Auto Arena.

Brandon Karnath scored 14 to lead Belgrade, which closes the season at 14-9.
