Local shooters advance at Elks Hoop Shoot

Six young athletes claimed city championships Sunday at the Elks Hoop Shoot at the Maroon Activities Center.

The winner of each division advances to the District Shoot, which is Jan. 4 in Dillon.

On the girls’ side, Braelynn Schelin of Butte Central, Ayva Gerry of Whittier and Khloe Bromfield of West claimed individual titles in their age groups. Miles Choquette of Hillcrest, Cade Kelly of Butte Central and Ryan Peoples of Butte Central posted victories.

In all, 51 shooters competed in the event after advancing from their school competitions.

Results follow. Each competitor shot 25 free throws, and shoot out scores are listed in parenthesis.
