Harrington Pepsi Patriots VS Glacier Bank/CCCS Falcon

Patriots – 12       Falcons – 6

It was a sloppy field and challenging weather, but the Patriots rose to the occasion once again! In a game that could have gone either way on Thursday night at Little Guy Field, the Patriots prevailed in a 12-6 overtime win. Both teams had a chance to score from the 10 yards line during the overtime battle. QB Hunter Snyder scampered for a 10 yard touchdown giving the Patriots the lead. The Defense then set up to keep the ferocious Falcons out of the end zone and succeeded.

Defense was the story of the night for the Patriots. Everyone stepped up and had a positive attitude throughout the game. During the game the Patriots had an amazing goal line stand, and also held the talented Falcons to only 6 points. Defense was led by outside linebackers, JJ Hardy and Dustin Watts as well as Bridger Smyth and Landon Wrampe on the defensive line. The team also had huge tackles from Lucas Coyne, Cooper Kahtani, Bentley Detonancour, Jacobi Grunhuvd and Lincoln West. Excellent secondary play from Jack Panisko,  Lucas Day-Purcell, Reese Lyndes and Marcus Gleason prevented the Falcons from getting key completions in the end zone and from getting any large plays. The team did a great job swarming and tackling as a unit.

The offense faced a very tough Falcon defense and it took some time to get some movement. Huge blocking by the wide receivers Reese Lyndes, Jack Panisko, Lucas Day-Purcell and tight ends Lucas Coyne and Marcus Gleason helped paved the way for a beautiful QB bootleg get the second score of the game and the win. Bentley Detonancour and JJ Hardy had some great runs, and Dustin Watts hooked up with QB Hunter Snyder on a couple of great gains through the air. Cooper Kahtani and Hunter Snyder did a great job with with their exchanges between the QB and Center keeping the team free from fumbles despite the very wet/rainy conditions.

A great team win, and never-say-die attitude led the Patriots to their second win of the season. The next encounter with the Falcons will no doubt be quite the rematch.
