Lights Hold Back Orediggers 67-60

HAVRE, Mont. – MSU-Northern stopped the No. 12 Montana Tech Orediggers at home to even the season series at one game apiece. The Lights down the Orediggers 67-60.

Northern (16-7, 5-5) kept Tech just out of reach since the start of the game hitting shots as the stopping the Orediggers advance. Tech pulled within two and three points a few times in the second half, but Northern answered back.

After trailing by 11 early in the second half, Caleb Bellach hit a three-pointer with 15:06 to play to bring the Orediggers within two 43-41. The Lights Anthony Braggs Jr. and Tanner McCliment-Call hit back-to-back three-pointers curving the Tech momentum.

The Orediggers (19-4, 7-3) went 0 for 11 from beyond the arc in the first half and shot just 37.5% from the field trailing 35-29 at the break.

The Orediggers shot 40% after halftime and went 3 for 9 from long.

The Lights finished shooting 44.3% from the field and had 17 points from their bench. Northern scored 14 points of 10 Tech turnovers.

Caleb Bellach had 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Chrishon Dixon had 11 points and Asa Williams finished with 10.

Hayden Diekhans had a game-high eight rebounds.

Jesse Keltner led the Lights with 17 points and six rebounds.

Immanuel Anderson had 12 points and four rebounds. Zackery Martinez finished with 10.

Montana Tech returns home Thursday when they host Montana Western.
