Lewis-Clark State’s McDaniel takes home men’s award

Doug McDaniel of Lewis-Clark State College was named the Frontier Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

McDaniel is a 6-foot-3 junior guard from Killeen, Texas. Lewis-Clark went 2-0 at the Corban Classic. They defeated Simpson University 102-58 and Corban University 100-65.

He averaged 18 points, three rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game. From the field, McDaniel hit 15 of 23 field goals (65 percent) and 6 of 9, 3-point field goals (67 percent).

Cruz Ginns Jr. of Montana Tech and Zach Taylor of Carroll College were also nominated.
