Leary, Hart lead way as Miners double up Bandits

Kenley Leary pounded four hits, and Eric Hart drove in four runs as the Butte Miners beat Belgrade 14-7 Wednesday night at 3 Legends Stadium. (Boxscore)

Leary went 4 for 5 with three runs scored from the leadoff spot. His night included a double and a triple as Butte outhit Belgrade 15-11.

Hart picked up the four RBIs by going 3 for 4 with two runs scored.

Aidan Lee and Sean Ossello also had a two hits in the game that saw Zach Tierney, who missed all of last season with an injury, smoke a double for his first extra-base hit of the season. Kevin Donaldson, Anthony Knott and Ethan Cunningham added singles for Butte.

Lee also worked two walks for Butte, which improved to 9-5 with their ninth win in 10 games.

Trey Hansen pitched four innings, striking out four and walking five to earn his win as a Miner. Rye Doherty fanned four over three innings to get the save.

Leadoff hitter Lane Neill had a huge night to lead the Bandits. He went 4 for 5 with four doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs. K Fike hit a double and a single, while Dyson Kinnaman and Sawyer Olson each hit two singles.
