WHITEFISH — Kloie Thatcher raked in some Frontier Conference honors Monday.
The Rocky Mountain College sophomore was named the Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced.
Thatcher, a 5-foot-7 Butte Central graduate, led Battlin’ Bears to a 74-61 victory at Dickinson State in Rocky’s lone game last week. Thatcher scored a career-high 31 points. She also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded four steals with one assist and one blocked shot.
Thatcher shot 9 of 21 from the field and 11 of 14 from free throw line.
Tavia Rooney of Montana Tech, Kiara Burlage of Lewis-Clark State, Bailey Cartwright of the University of Providence, Christine Denny of Carroll College and Peyton Kehr of MSU-Northern were also nominated for the award.
Men’s Player of the Week: Jovan Sljivancanin of Carroll College
Sljivancanin, a 6-foot-5 sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia, led the Saints as Carroll went 1-1 on the week. The Saints lost to No. 22 Westmont (California) 73-69 and defeated No. 24 (NCAA, Division III) Whitworth 79-61.
For the week, Sljivancanin averaged 19.5 points, 13 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He was 17 of 36 from the field including 3 of 7, 3-point field goals and 2 of 3 free throws.
Taylor English of Montana Tech, Brian Howell of Montana Western, Mascio McCadney of MSU-Northern, Damek Mitchell of Lewis-Clark State and Joel Thabize of the University of Providence were also nominated.
