King, Imhoff take home Frontier weekly awards

WHITEFISH —  Brianna King of Montana Western and Ryan Imhoff of Carroll College were named Frontier Conference Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced today.

Imhoff received the men’s honor for the fifth time this season. King grabbed her third Player of the Week award of the season, which is her first with Western.

King is a 5-foot-5 junior guard from Spokane, Washington. The Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins over nationally-ranked teams over the weekend. Western beat No. 10 Carroll College 59-43 and No. 18 Rocky Mountain College 64-57 in Dillon.

For the weekend, King averaged 22.5 points, five rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals. She was 10 of 30 from the field and 24 of 29 (83 percent) from the free throw line.

Hannah Sparks of Montana Tech was also nominated for the honor, along with Markaela Francis of Rocky Mountain, Brandy Lambourne of MSU-Northern and Stephanie McDonagh of the University of Providence.

Imhoff is a 6-6 senior guard from Napa, California. No. 10-ranked Carroll was 1-1 on the road. The Saints fell 88-77 at No. 16 Montana Western 77-88 before beating No. 8 Lewis-Clark State 65-55.

Imhoff averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the two games. He was 14 of 29 from the field (48 percent) and was 7 for 9 from the free throw line.

Chris O’Neill of Montana Tech, Zaccheus Darko-Kelly of Montana Western, Satchel McDonald of Rocky Mountain, Ryan Reeves of MSU-Northern and DuShaun Rice of the University of Providence were also nominated.
