Keli Dennehy shatters PR

POCATELLO, Idaho — Butte High graduate Keli Dennehy ran the fastest 3,000 meters of her career Saturday at the Mountain States Games.

Dennehy, a junior at the University of Montana, placed second in the event in 9 minutes, 56.97 seconds. Dennehy, who beat her previous best by more than 8 seconds, was the fastest runner attached to a school.

Unattached athlete Taylor Ward won the event in 9:51.67.

Dennehy also ran with McKenzie Luth, Reagan Colyer and Kourtney Danreuther to win the women distance medley on Friday.
