Junior tour golfers up to Challenge on Par 3

Players on the Southwest Montana Junior Golf tour were up to the challenge Monday at the Highland View Golf Course.

Butte golfers Chase Choquette, Kate DeShaw, Kendyllen Lean and Henly Mansanti won their respective divisions at the Par 3 Challenge, which was the final tune up before next Monday’s season-ending Old Works Championships. (Leaderboard)

Choquette shot a 3-over-par 57 to run away with the title in the Patrick Cantlay Division for boys 14-15. Dillon’s Carson Fluckiger placed second at 70, two shots better than Butte’s Zachary Sawyer.

DeShaw shot a 47 to narrowly win the nine-hole Danielle Kang Division for girls 13 and under. Melrose golfer Evyn Smith and Butte’s Gracie Godbout tied for second at 48.

Lean was the lone player in the Nelly Korda Division for girls 16-17. She shot a 76. Mansanti was the only player in the Jordan Spieth Division for boys 13 and under. He carded a 41 over nine holes.

Hamilton’s Richie Carson shot the low round of the day, carding a 56 to win the Scotty Scheffler Division for boys 16-17. Ray Morrison of Dillon took second at 64. Dillon’s Kenny Morrison finished third at 67, which was one shot better than Butte’s Jacob Sawyer.

Maryah Lindsay of Clancy once again won the Lexi Thompson Division for girls 14-15. She shot a 75 to tope Butte’s Chelsi Lyons by three shots. Tatum Nagle of Dillon hit an 84, and Eryn Lindsay of Clancy shot 85.
