Jund, Dawgs shoot out Northern Lights, 38-13

HAVRE — Jon Jund had another big day for the Montana Western football team Saturday.

The sophomore quarterback from Spring Creek, Nevada, passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 38-13 win over MSU-Northern in a Frontier Conference game at Blue Ponie Stadium. (Stats)

The quarterback punched in a pair of short touchdown runs in the victory that lifted the Bulldogs to 2-0 on the young season.

June hooked up with Trey Mounts five times for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Mounts caught scoring passes of 28 and 55 yards. He also hauled in a 57-yard pass.

Brandon Hunter caught a 17-yard score.

Northern’s Brenden Medina passed for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He found Damari Cuala-Davis and Jake Horner for scores.

Joe Caicedo registered nine tackles to lead the Bulldog defense. Payton Pinz recorded eight tackles, while Dylan Pope and Butte Central graduate Kyle Schulte each had seven take downs.

Schulte, a senior captain, also got in on a sack.

The Bulldogs will be back on the road next week when they take on Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
