BOZEMAN — Butte Central golfers Tricia Joyce and Tyge Yelenich claimed individual titles Monday at the Belgrade Invitational golf tournament.
The Maroon boys won the team teach championship.
Yelenich fired a 7-over-par 78 at the Riverside Country Club to win medalist honors on the boys’ side. Yelenich, a junior, shot 39 on each nine.
Havre’s Dustin Haas and Frenchtown’s Derek Wolff tied for second at 81.
BC freshman Gator Yelenich followed a 44 with a 39 to tie for fourth overall with junior teammate Cameron Johnson at 83. Johnson shot 41 on the front and 42 on the back.
Elijah Baker of Belgrade and Kane Gabrielsen of Havre also shot 83.
Also for BC, Dan McCloskey hit 95 and Bryan Arnold carded a 97. As a team, the Maroons shot 339 to tie for the team title with the Bozeman junior varsity team. Havre placed third at 345.
On the girls’ side, Joyce followed a 40 with a 38 for a 78 to claim medalist honors for the second time in four days. The sophomore won the Park Invitational in Livingston on Friday.
Frenchtown’s Dani Flyn, and Lewistown’s Kinsey Irvin and Abby Gremaux tied for second at a distant 89.
Lewistown won the team title at 394. Butte Central only has two players on the girls’ team. Golf newcomer Megan Michelotti shot a 129.
