ANACONDA — Butte golfers Tricia Joyce, Hailey Ogolin and Isaiah Weldon won or shared division titles during The Old Works Championship Monday at the Old Works Golf Course.
The tournament was the finale of the eight-stop South West Montana Junior Golf Tour. Tournament awards and 2014 tour championships were handed out at a banquet following play.
Joyce, a soon-to-be eighth grader, carded a 92 to run away with the tournament title in the Stacey Lewis Division (girls 14-15). Fellow Butte golfer Alexis Williams placed second at 114.
Williams, who will be a sophomore at Butte High this golf season, held on to win the tour championship in the division. Joyce was the runner up.
Ogolin, a Butte High senior, shot a 90 to win the Suzann Petersen Division (girls 16-17). Helena’s Rowan Rankin placed second at 109. Ogolin also claimed the tour title in the division. Shealyn Hafer, who didn’t play in the finale, placed second.
Weldon matched the low round of the day with a 7-over-par 79. He tied with Helena’s Riley Lawrence to win the Rory McIlroy Division (boys 14-15). Butte’s Will Hoagland was next at 83, followed by Houston Green of Butte at 85.
Green maintained the top spot in the tour standings, claiming the overall title. Weldon placed second, followed by Lawrence.
In the Tiger Woods Division (boys 16-17), Clancy golfer Logan Teegarden shot a 79 to claim the tournament crown. Helena golfer Taggart Sullivan finished second at 81. Butte’s Will Kilmer and Eric Fogerty were next at 84 and 85.
Kilmer won the tour title in the division. Teegarden placed a close second, while Fogerty was third.
Max Feight of Whitehall had an amazing day in the nine-hole Phil Mickelson Division (boys 12-13). Feight shot a 1-under-par 35 to easily win the tournament title. He also claimed the tour championship.
Butte’s Erik Casagranda and Tristan Hanson of Hamilton tied for second at 45. Hanson finished second in the overall standings. Casagranda placed third.
