ST. LOUIS — Butte native Rob Johnson went 1 for 4 with a single Wednesday night in the St. Louis Cardinals 10-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium.
Johnson singled to left in the bottom of the third inning. Two batters later, Johnson was forced out at second as pitcher Michael Wacha reached on a fielder’s choice. Johnson struck out swinging in the fifth, grounded into a double play in the seventh and grounded out to second to end the game in the ninth.
St. Louis Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright struggled, giving up nine earned runs in just two innings.
Johnson is now hitting .188 on the season. He is 6 for 32 with a double, triple and two RBIs in 17 appearances since being called up from Triple-A Memphis on July 9.
