Johnson, Redbirds grab share of first

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Butte native Rob Johnson went 1 for 2 with a double and two walks Sunday as the Memphis Redbirds jumped back into a tie for first place with a 6-0 win over the Iowa Cubs.

The Cubs and Redbirds sit atop the Pacific Coast League American Northern standings at 38-40.

Memphis beat the Cubs 6-2 Saturday. Johnson went 1 for 3 with a double in that win. On Friday, Johnson went 0 for 3 in a 13-2 loss at Round Rock, Texas.

Johnson is now batting .236 on the season. The Redbirds and Cubs play again Monday and Tuesday. Memphis plays host to the Albuquerque Isotopes in a four-game set starting Thursday.
