Johnson ready to return from suspension

Butte native Rob Johnson will be eligible to play tonight when the Memphis Redbirds play in Round Rock, Texas.

Johnson was suspended three games for his part in a bench-clearing brawl Saturday night in Albuquerque, N.M. Pitcher Jorge Rondon was suspended seven games, while pitchers Maikel Cleto and Sam Freeman were suspended three games each. Those suspensions begin at the end of Rondo’s punishment.

Johnson is batting .228 on the season. He has seven home runs, six doubles and 27 RBIs in 45 games.

Over the past 10 games, Johnson is hitting .294 with three homers, three doubles and 12 RBIs.
