TACOMA, Wash. — Butte native Rob Johnson returned from the seven-day disabled list Sunday to double for the Memphis Redbirds in a Pacific Coast League game against the Tacoma Rainiers at McCoy Stadium.
Tacoma’s Carlos Triunfel hit a walk-off home run in the ninth inning to give the Rainiers a 6-5 win.
Johnson, a former Rainier who was out with a concussion since getting hit on the head with a bat May 10, went 1 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. The catcher’s batting average sits at .190.
At 22-19, the Redbirds hold a one-game lead over the Omaha Storm Chases for first place in the American Northern Division. The Redbirds start a four-game series tonight in Salt Lake City.
