GLENDIVE — Jessica Robertson picked up her first win of the season in a big way Saturday afternoon.
The Butte High graduate fired a perfect game to lead Dawson Community College to a 17-0 victory over the North Dakota State College of Science.
Robertson, a sophomore, struck out 12 batters in five innings of work. She did not allow a base runner in the game that was called after five by the 10-run rule. She improved her record to 1-2 on the season with the perfecto.
Dawson head coach Jim LeProwse, a Butte native, said the perfect game was the first for the Buccaneers in his seven seasons coaching in Glendive.
Robertson didn’t pitch as Dawson (5-7) completed the sweep with a 13-0 victory in Game 2. The teams will play a doubleheader again Sunday.
Robertson returned to Glendive this season after taking the 2015-16 season off. She earned all-conference honors in her first stint at Dawson in 2014-15.
Her freshman season included a victory over the Montana Grizzlies. Robertson was a three-year starter at Butte High from 2012-14.
