JC transfer Aniese Palmore joins Western women

DILLON — Montana Western head coach Lindsay Woolley announced today the signing of Aniese Palmore of Santa Monica, California to an NAIA Letter of Intent for the 2015-2016 year.

Palmore is a 5-foot-4 point guard who averaged 16.8 points per game, 4.3 assists per game, 1.9 steals per game and 7.3 rebounds per game last season at Santa Monica College.

“Aniese is a talented player,” Woolley said. “She will fit very well into our system because of her ability to deliver the ball on time and to the right person.”

Last season Palmore was named to the all-tournament team at the Fullerton College Tournament, Cypress College Tournament, and was selected as MVP of the San Mateo College Tournament. She was honored as the Santa Monica College Student-Athlete of the Year, and earned All-Western State First Team recognition and was the conference athlete of the week during the season.

“In addition to distributing the ball well, Aniese has proven that she can score when needed.” Woolley said. “We are excited that she has chosen to continue her playing career and earn her degree at Montana Western.”

Palmore is the daughter of Angie Pittman and Morris, and has been named to the Dean’s Honor List for her work in the classroom at Santa Monica. Palmore will study early childhood education at Montana Western.
