Butte High Senior Jack Prigge claimed the medalist honors at the Belgrade Invitational with a one stroke advantage.
It wasn’t easy as Prigge followed Mondays 67 at Riverside Country club with a 75 on day two at the Cottowood Hills course to finish with a 142. Helena Capital golfer Joe McGreevey shot a 71 today to go with his 72 Monday to finish with a 143. Cooper Bourret of Bozeman moved into third with a 146 followed by Tye Boone of Skyview and Gavin Klien of Gallatin who tied for 4th at 147.
The team race was as close as it can get for the top 3 spots with Skyview holding on for 1st with 607, Bozeman one stroke back with a 608 followed by Helena Capital with 609. The Bulldogs finished in fourth with a team score of 617, six strokes better than 5th place Gallatin.
Jacob Sawyer was second on the team score card shooting a 75 to finish with a 155. Chase Choquette hit an 86 to finish at 163, Brenner Booth and Gavin Roesti finished at 165. Roesti was nine strokes better on day two with 78 and Booth cut seven strokes off his Monday score with a 79.
GIRLS
On the girls side of the Belgrade tournament, Billings West stretched their 12 stroke lead on Monday to a 27 stroke victory. The Golden Bears team finished with a score of 630 easily out pacing Billings Senior with 657 and Gallatin with 674. The young Bulldogs finished the tournament with an 821.
Billings Wests Bella Johnson finished the tournament ona top of the leader board with a 139, ten strokes better than Kenzie Walsh of Billings Senior who moved up to second with a 149. Gallitan golfer Addiley Lloyd was one stroke back at 150 followed by Hayden Trost of West with a 152 and Bozemans Kira Connell finished 5th with 162.
The dogs were led by Dylan Bartoletti with a 2 day total of 196, Taylor Sullivan a 202, Gussey Lean 211, Chelsi Lyons 212Kate Deshaw 232.
The Bulldogs will host the Butte High Invitational September 7th and 8th at Fairmont Hot Springs.
